Riley is a very optimistic kid who loves to see everyone around him just as happy. He rarely, if ever, gets upset. Everything bad said/done to him seem to just roll of his back, though this could be because he is extremely oblivious in social situations. He doesn't see himself as socially awkward, but others might. Though he may ot be very smart when it comes to people, he is extremely smart when it comes to his studies. He can be very talkitive with strangers, even if he doesn't know what to say, he sure as hell will start some type of conversation! He's a very easy going individual and loves to help others in tough situations.
Bio/ Reason for Going to Ataraxia :
He was kicked out of his old school for false charges, and became very upset he could no longer attend school. While his parents were out, they found a poster advertising an academy for gijinkas and showed Riley. He was instantly pumped and begged his parents to go.
Riley was born an only child in the city of Cerulean in the Kanto region. He lived in a large cave with his mother and father who rarely left, and encouraged him to do the same. At age 10 his father offered to take him hunting with him. Riley was so thrilled he would be able to see what the outside really looked like, he agreed right away. That night while hunting he saw a large building with oddly shaped instruments in the back. He asked his father what they were, and he explained that it was a school, and the strange instruments were ment for the children to play on. He was captivated by the idea and constantly thought about it.
He constantly asked his father and mother about it, and if he could attend. They were extremely worried to allow him to go, especially since the city wasn't to keen on the idea of gijinkas. Despite their worries, they wanted to make their only child happy, and set off in the morning to talk to the school principal. After what seemed like forever his parents returned with the good news that he would be started school the next day. He was extremly excited and went to bed right away. The next day his parents sat down with him and told him if he dislikes school he can quit right away. He smiled and nodded and flew off to the biggest day of his life.
When he arrived, all the other students stared at him.(which he took as a good thing.) Every child he tried to talk to ignored him or screamed and ran from him. It confused him a bit, but he just took it as the other children being shy. In class, he sat in the far back, which made it extremely difficult for him to see the board. Being constantly in the darkness of a cave can do some damage on your eyes. Despite all these challenges, (which he didn't really consider challenges since he thought that was normal human behavior, despite the vision problem) he became a top student. He loved learning with a passion, especially science.
He was able to stay in the school for about six years. Despite the others picking on him or just plain out ignoring him, it didn't bother him at all. He was just happy he could learn more. Though near the end of his sixth year, the teachers accused him of false charges to get him kicked out of school. He was very upset to leave. His parents hated seeing him so upset, they set out to find a better, safer school for him. The happened to come across a poster for Ataraxia Academy. Once they showed Riley he was right back on his feet begging to go. Since it would be with other gijinkas, they purchased Riley some glasses so he didn't have to use echolocation as much and annoy the other students.
